This body map was created in Mwenga by nine individuals, including former underage combatants, parents of former underage combatants and service providers. Staff from PREV-HIA, HHI and ECI oversaw this body mapping session.

The portrayal of scars and wounds on the body maps reveal different perceptions by gender and region. The Mwenga participants presented female former underage combatants as bearing scars from natural hazards or interpersonal violence, such as beatings: “The entire body has scars, rashes and various diseases due to lack of hygiene… [S]he bears a scar on the face (blue spot in the right of the face) resulting from being beaten and wounded.”
